HRH Crown Prince pays tribute to the Bahrain national football team, supporters, and Gulf Cup organisers

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander today expressed his delight at the overwhelming support given by the people of Bahrain to the national football team throughout this year’s Gulf Cup Championship, Gulf Cup 21. HRH Crown noted that such vigorous and enthusiastic support has contributed significantly to the success of the tournament so far.

Recognising the work to bring the Gulf Cup to Bahrain, HRH Crown Prince commended the efforts of the Supreme Organising Committee, under the supervision of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the tournament.

He recognised its exemplary efforts in ensuring this key event in the region’s sporting calendar has been held to the highest organisational standards, drawing supporters from across the Gulf to Bahrain to attend the tournament. HRH Crown Prince also thanked all the volunteers across the different organisational committees, stating that their devotion to the success of the event embodied the true Bahraini spirit of openness and warmth.

Finally, HRH Crown Prince congratulated the national football team for their outstanding effort during the championship, remarking that the hard work, skill and commitment of the team will stay long in the memory, and wished them greater fortune in future tournaments.
