HRH Crown Prince Receives UK Foreign Office Minister For Middle East and North Africa
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, has said that the appropriate solution to the effects of the recent events should engage all parties and take into account the interests of all social spectra in order to be able to continue the reform and developments march successfully.
“The Kingdom, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, is committed to this policy out of its belief that progress, development and reform are a continuous process,” he said as he received today, at the Riffa Palace, in the presence of the Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Minister in Charge of Middle Eastern and North African Affairs at the UK Foreign Office Alistair Burt.HRH Crown Prince expressed the kingdom’s appreciation of Britain’s supportive stance towards Bahrain and condemnation of violence and escalation, congratulating the United Kingdom on the success of the celebrations marking Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee.He also lauded the steadily growth of bilateral cooperation and coordination in all fields, including the security one.
On his part, the UK official asserted that his country will continue its support for Bahrain and coordination with it out of the historical friendship relations bonding the two kingdoms, wishing Bahrain every success in addressing the repercussions of the last year’s events through the implementation of the recommendations of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI).”Britain understands the specificity of the Kingdom of Bahrain and wishes it continuous security and stability in order to be able to achieve more progress and development,” he said.The Economic and Political Affairs Advisor at the HRH Crown Prince’s Court Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Head of the Crown Prince’s Court Shaikh Khalifa bin Daij Al Khalifa and the UK Ambassador to Bahrain Iain Lindsay attended the meeting.
