HRH the Crown Prince: health sector a top priority

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, said that the Kingdom of Bahrain places the health sector on top of its priorities and concerns because this sector provides significant humanitarian services to various parts of the community.

HRH the Crown Prince, as received at the Riffa Palace this morning chairman and members of the newly-elected body of the Bahraini Medical Association, congratulated them on the association’s recent successful elections and asserted the society’s significant role in supporting community health awareness programs and contribution in programs which ensure the health of citizens in association with public health authorities in laying down plans to develop applicable policies commensurate with advanced international standards.HRH the Crown Prince added that the provision of public health services is the government’s responsibility.

However, we can use international expertise in financing this sector in order to achieve sustainability desirable for every citizen. HRH the Crown Prince praised the honorable standard of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s medical cadres and lauded their good reputation which has made Bahrain a prime destination for medical tourism and wished members of the Bahraini medical profession and the Bahrain Medical Society success and good luck.On the other hand, the chairman and members of the Bahrain Medical Society expressed their utmost gratitude and appreciation to HRH the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander for HRH’s support, encouragement and interest in developing the health sector.

The medical association members informed HRH the Crown Prince about the society’s activities, plans and initiatives in administering health and medical treatment to citizens.The meeting was attended by the advisor of HRH the Crown Prince for political and economic affairs Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, HRH the Crown Prince court’s chief Shaikh Khalifa bin Duaij Al Khalifa and Health Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Aysha Bu Unuq.
