HRH CP meets with British Ambassador

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, received today in Riffa Palace the British Ambassador in the Kingdom Iain Lindsay.

In the meeting, HRH the Crown Prince expressed his hope to achieve a reconciliatory national solution to the crisis the Kingdom, as has always been the case, and without underestimating external influences surrounding the Kingdom, the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and all institutions of the society are capable of finding a solution which ensures stability and prosperity in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and meaningful participation by all parties in the process are considered a national duty, and support from brotherly and friendly countries will contribute into achieving the national solution.

HRH the Crown Prince expressed his gratitude to the British ambassador for the British Prime Minister David Cameron’s letter which expressed the support of the United Kingdom to His Majesty King Hamad’s reform project, and appreciation for the positive role the British Ambassador in bolstering and upgrading bilateral relations between the two friendly kingdoms.

HRH urged Bahraini everybody to reject all sorts of sectarian divisionism and to respect other opinions, and praised the role of the Bahraini women in rejecting sectarian and discriminatory acts of violence and enhancing democracy and raising an open-minded generation that believes in freedom and respecting the other’s rights, and he cited the wise leadership of HM the King and hailed His Majesty’s shouldering of a historic responsibility in serving the honorable Bahraini people through the reformation project and protecting democracy over the last decade.

On his part, the British Ambassador said that his government backs HM the King’s reform project which has been lauded in the British Prime Minister’s letter to HM the King, and hoped that the Kingdom will overcome the current situation and achieve further progress and stability. The meeting was attended by HRH the Crown Prince’s court chief Shaikh Khalifa bin Daij Al Khalifa.
