HRH Prince Salman Honours Sponsors of Shaikh Ibrahim Centre

 His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, tonight patronized a ceremony hosted at Buzabun building in Muharraq in honour of the sponsors of the Shaikh Ibrahim bin Mohammed Centre for Culture and Research.

 He paid tribute to Culture Minister and Centre board of trustees’ chairperson Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa for her effort to revive culture and preserve heritage-being an essential cornerstone of Bahrain’s identity. The event is part of lined up festivities marking the tenth anniversary of the centre. Arab League secretary-general Dr. Nabil Al-Arabi and Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa also attended.

HRH Prince Salman also thanked the sponsors for their firm belief in the importance of investing in culture as Manama is being celebrated as the capital of Arab Culture for 2012. A film documenting the march and planned projects of the Shaikh Ibrahim bin Mohammed Centre for Culture and Research was also shown.

Shaikha Mai also addressed the event extending deep appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for his support. She also thanked HRH Prince Salman for backing the centre. She also extended thanks to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka, wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women.
