Crown Prince meets top officials of GCC countries

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today met various top officials of GCC countries, including His Excellency Dr Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council on the sidelines of the Manama Dialogue. 

His Royal Highness praised the deep and brotherly ties between the GCC countries and the role played by the countries’ leadership in enhancing regional cooperation. His Royal Highness also extended his gratitude for the significant level of participation from the GCC countries in this year’s Manama Dialogue, which reflects the growing importance of this forum in providing a key opportunity for serious and productive discussions on a range of critical security issues.

His Royal Highness went on to stress the importance of taking a holistic approach in the fight against theocratic fascism to achieve a more stable and secure Middle East, aligning the international coalition’s efforts with GCC strategies and international political and economic policies. Adding that Bahrain recognises that any attempt to undermine the security of regional partners directly impact its national security, His Royal Highness emphasised the Kingdom’s commitment to the long-term safety of all its citizens and to those of its GCC neighbours.

Furthermore, His Royal Highness stressed that the GCC should continue to work closely to identify joint approaches to address regional security challenges, including blocking all means used by extremist groups as they work to undermine long-term development and prosperity for all people across the Middle East. In this regard, he noted that Bahrain has taken a leading role in combating the financing of terrorism. 

His Royal Highness and the delegates emphasised the importance of maintaining national values in the fight against the rising evil theocracies, specifically the principles of tolerance and coexistence as preached in Islam.

For their part, the GCC delegations offered their gratitude for the opportunity to meet with His Royal Highness and praised Bahrain’s efforts supporting GCC unity. They also noted the importance of the Manama Dialogue forum and its role in addressing important regional security issues.

The meeting was also attended by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, son of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa.
