HRH Crown Prince meets US officials

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today met the US Assistant Secretary of the Near Eastern Affairs Bureau, Anne Patterson and the Assistant Secretary of the Democracy, Human rights and Labour Bureau, Tom Malinowski, at Riffa Palace.

His Royal Highness noted the Kingdom’s commitment to His Majesty King Hamad’s programme of reform which serves to benefit all Bahrainis through sustainable development.

Touching on Bahrain’s recent elections, His Royal Highness highlighted that the result of the elections clearly demonstrated the commitment of all Bahrainis to sustainable progress and long term stability, a key outcome that serves to further expand the Kingdom’s achievements.

His Royal Highness then highlighted how events in the region serve to underscore the need for consensus-based reform and development.

His Royal Highness emphasised that Bahrain recognises long term safety and security as a vital pillar in the Kingdom’s programme of development. In this regard, His Royal Highness added that the Kingdom remains fully committed to countering all forms of terrorism and violent extremism to ensure lasting stability.

In response, Patterson and Malinowski highlighted their interest in further developing cooperation between the US and Bahrain.
