HRH Crown Prince Hosts Iftar Banquet for Ministry of Interior Senior Officers

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today held an Iftar banquet for senior officers and officials of the Ministry of Interior at the Public Security Officers Club. On arrival at the club, His Royal Highness was welcomed by the Interior Minister, His Excellency Lieutenant General Sheikh Rashid Bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, and the Minister of State for Interior Affairs, Major-General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel, along with a number of senior officers from the Ministry of Interior. Following an exchange of Ramadan greetings with the Interior Minister and senior officers, His Royal Highness praised the role and efforts of Bahrain’s law enforcement officers and personnel from the Ministry of Interior in upholding the rule of law, and security for all Bahraini citizens. HRH Crown Prince highlighted that such role remain a priority in order to further the Kindgom’s programme of reform and development, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad. HRH Crown Prince added that the efforts made by Bahrain’s security personnel, in order to guarantee the safety of the Kingdom’s citizens and the stability of the country, will always be highly appreciated by all. HRH Crown Prince noted the actions taken by the Ministry of Interior in preventing citizens from participating in regional conflicts, as well as from inciting violence or fighting with extremist terrorist groups internally, regionally or internationally. HRH Crown Prince then affirmed his support for the security officers in performing their duties to protect the Kingdom and its citizens. He noted the Ministry’s commitment to perform its duties in accordance with the law and international standards through cooperating with various civil and human rights institutions. On behalf of the Ministry and the senior officers in attendance, the Minister of Interior extended his best wishes to His Royal Highness on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, and wished him continued health and happiness. The Minister further stressed that the security officers and employees of the Ministry of Interior stand ready to perform their duties and implement directives from the Supreme Commander to maintain discipline, respect rights and guarantee freedoms.
