HRH Crown Prince holds Weekly Majlis

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister held his weekly Majlis at Riffa Palace today. His Royal Highness welcomed a wide cross section of Bahraini society, including members of the royal family, senior government officials, members of the Council of Representatives and the Shura Council, members of municipal councils, prominent religious figures, academics, community leaders, journalists and diplomats accredited to the Kingdom.

A delegation from the Arab and Middle Eastern Journalists Association (AMEJA) also attended the Majlis. The delegation was led by its Secretary General and included senior representatives from Egypt, Jordan, Mauritania and Libya. His Royal Highness highlighted AMEJA’s significant achievements in advancing the role of journalism across the Arab world through its various programmes. He further emphasised the importance of maintaining a collective effort to promote impartial and responsible journalism across the region. 

In response, AMEJA’s Secretary General and delegation members expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to meet His Royal Highness, and visit the Kingdom. AMEJA’s Secretary General also highlighted the success of the workshop entitled “Ways of Promoting Press Freedoms in the Arab world”, which began in Bahrain yesterday. The attendees praised His Royal Highness’ keen engagement with Bahrain’s citizens, in addition to his efforts to reinforce sustainable development and improve public services in the Kingdom, in line with the development programme initiated by His Majesty King Hamad.
