HRH Crown Prince attends BIC’s 10th Anniversary celebration

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today attended the Bahrain International Circuit’s (BIC) 10th Anniversary Celebration, in Sakhir.

The event, held under the patronage of His Royal Highness, celebrated the BIC’s ten-year role in pioneering motorsport development in the region as the host of the Bahrain F1 Grand Prix.

During the ceremony, His Royal Highness praised the BIC’s staff for their key role in the Circuit’s successes, and noted that the BIC’s many achievements would not have been possible without their efforts. He also highlighted that this year’s F1 Grand Prix, which featured the region’s first all night race, has earned the BIC and the Kingdom wide international praise.

His Royal Highness stressed the importance of continuing to advance the BIC’s development by diversifying the types of events that can be held at the circuit. In this regard, His Royal Highness stated that the BIC is not simply a motor racing venue, but an institution for the development of Bahrain’s youth and for the nation as a whole.

The Chairman of the BIC, Mr Zayed Rashid Al Zayani, expressed his gratitude and deep appreciation for His Royal Highness’ support for the BIC. As one of the most prestigious motor sports arenas in the world, Mr Al Zayani noted that the BIC forms an integral part of His Royal Highness’ vision for the Kingdom’s continued development.
