Crown Prince receives Citygroup’s CEO for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA)

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister received Citygroup’s CEO for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA), James C. Cowles at Riffa Palace today.

His Royal Highness highlighted Citygroup’s role in bolstering the banking and financial sector in the Kingdom. He went on emphasising Citygroup’s commitment to expanding operations in the Kingdom.

His Royal Highness praised Citygroup’s active role in the Kingdom and across the wider GCC region, adding that the Kingdom is committed to ensuring optimum regulations and guidelines that facilitate the expansion of financial institutions in the Kingdom.

In discussing the significance of Citybank to Bahrain’s banking and financial sector, His Royal Highness underscored the role of the sector in creating job opportunities for Bahrainis and providing them with distinctive competencies. His Royal Highness added that the Kingdom is committed to supporting Citybank’s operations and developments in the Kingdom.

In response, the CEO for EMEA at Citygroup expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet His Royal Highness. He went on to highlight the role of the Kingdom’s liberal business environment in facilitating operations of the bank and confirm Citygroup’s commitment to supporting the banking and financial sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Also attending the meeting was Bahrain’s Central Bank Governor, Rashid Al-Miraj.
