Crown Prince meets Speaker of the Turkish Parliament
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today received the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, His Excellency Cemil Çiçek, during his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
His Royal Highness highlighted Bahrain’s longstanding ties with Turkey and emphasised the potential for both countries to broaden co-operation across different fields.
His Royal Highness expressed Bahrain’s commitment to enhance bilateral relations with Turkey, based on mutual respect and shared interests; and underscored the modernity of Turkey and dedication to maintaining critical components of openness and tolerance.
His Royal Highness further noted the importance of such visits to sharing knowledge and experience of the legislative process, recognising both the Turkish and Bahraini parliamentarian efforts to examine ways to enhance coordination and collaboration on shared interests as well as regional and international affairs.
For his part, Speaker Çiçek expressed his pleasure in meeting His Royal Highness, and welcomed His Royal Highness’ commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
Speaker Çiçek further noted his respect for Bahrain’s parliamentary process as it seeks to reinforce the role of legislature. Speaker Çiçek concluded by wishing Bahrain further success and prosperity.
