HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister deputises HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa to attend the 2024 Crown Prince’s Cup

On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and in the attendance of the Honorary President of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Educational Charitable Trust, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), and Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club High Committee, today attended the 2024 Crown Prince’s Cup, held under HRH’s patronage, at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, and presented the trophies to the winners.

During the event, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad highlighted the ongoing support the Kingdom’s equestrian sector receives from HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and commended the success of this year’s Crown Prince’s Cup. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad expressed his pride in the Victorious Stable’s horse, “Isle of Jura,” winning the Crown Prince’s Cup for imported horses.

Commenting on the races, HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman highlighted the unwavering support received by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the Kingdom’s equestrian sector. This support has consolidated Bahrain’s position as a recognised hub for hosting international horseracing championships.

HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for HRH’s commitment to supporting the annual Crown Prince’s Cup, further bolstering Bahrain’s equestrian sport and horsemanship activities regionally and globally.

HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman noted the importance of the Crown Prince’s Cup as one of the prominent events hosted by the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, adding that the yearly event plays an integral role in the REHC horseracing calendar.

HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman highlighted the intense competition witnessed during the Crown Prince’s Cup including the readiness of the participating stables and jockeys, who demonstrated a commitment and determination to win the prestigious trophies.

HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman concluded by congratulating the winners of the races and wished them success in future races.

HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman presented the trophies of the 2024 Crown Prince’s Cup for Imported Horses trophy to HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Leader of the Victorious Team, and presented the Crown Prince’s Cup for local breeds trophy to Khalid Abdulrahim. HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa received the Crown Prince’s Cup Waho trophy from Mohammed Khalid Abdulrahim.

His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa presented the Bahrain Oaks cup to His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa, while HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman presented the Hawar Cup to Michael Owen, and the Group CEO of Howden, David Howden, presented the Anchorm Cup by Howden to Khalid Abdulrahim.

The Member of the REHC High Committee, Ali Habib Qassim, presented the Bahrain Derby to trainer Fawzi Nass.

His Highness Shaikh Sultan Al-Din bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa received the Howden Cup from the Chief Executive Officer of Howden International Growth Markets, Sonia Caamaño.

HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Vice-President of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) and Deputy Chairman of the Higher Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, and a number of senior officials and prominent horseracing enthusiasts also attended the event.
