Readout of telephone call held between HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the UK Prime Minister

A telephone call was held today between His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, the Rt Hon Sir Keir Starmer.

His Royal Highness and the UK Prime Minister discussed the UK’s decision to join the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), which seeks to strengthen cooperation among like-minded countries to promote stability and progress.

His Royal Highness noted that such agreements serve as a foundation for a prosperous future and economic growth that benefits all.

For his part, the Rt Hon Sir Keir Starmer emphasised that the C-SIPA agreement reflects both Kingdoms’ shared commitment to safeguarding security and peace.

Ways to strengthen the Bahrain-UK partnership and enhance multisectoral collaboration, particularly in defence, were key areas of focus.

In addition, longstanding Bahrain-UK relations, rooted in a shared history of cooperation and multisectoral collaboration, were discussed.
