HRH the Deputy King receives the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Traffic Council

The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today received His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Traffic Council, at Riffa Palace.

His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla briefed HRH the Deputy King on the implementation of the decree-law amending penalties related to traffic violations.

During the meeting, HRH the Deputy King affirmed that the legislative updates aim to strengthen compliance with traffic law and safeguard lives and property.

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad emphasised the importance of continuously monitoring and developing traffic regulations to improve traffic flow and ensure a safer environment for all road users.

For his part, HE General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa expressed his gratitude for HRH the Deputy King’s directives, noting that the strengthened penalties for violations and serious accidents represent a significant advancement in the Kingdom’s traffic legislation, which comes as part of the government’s ongoing commitment to enhancing public safety and reducing traffic-related incidents.

His Excellency also reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to effectively implementing the decree-law in order to safeguard public safety and property, and ensure the smooth flow of traffic.

HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court, along with several senior officials, also attended the meeting.
