HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister issues Edict (72) of 2025

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today issued Edict (72) of 2025, on the restructuring of the National Taskforce on the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases, based on a proposal submitted by the Minister of Health and following the approval of the Cabinet.

Article (I)

The National Taskforce on the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases shall be restructured under the chairmanship of the Minister of Health, with the following members:

1. The Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health, at the Ministry of Health

2. The Director of Testing and Metrology, at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce

3. The Director of Animal Health, at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture

4. The Director of the Youth Empowerment, at the Ministry of Youth Affairs

5. The Director of Climate Change and Sustainable Development, at the Executive Office of the Supreme Council for the Environment

6. The Director of Student Activities, at the Ministry of Education

7. The Director of the Media Office, at the National Communication Centre (NCC)

8. The Head of Medical Services, at the Primary Health Care Centres

9. The Chief of Medical Staff, at Government Hospitals

10. The Consultant and Head of the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, at the Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Specialist Cardiac Centre.

11. The Consultant of Endocrinologist, Diabetologist, and Obesity Specialist, at the King Hamad University Hospital

12. The Vice President of the Bahrain Diabetes Society

13. The President of the Bahrain Cancer Society

The Head of the Non-Communicable Diseases Group at the Public Health Directorate of the Ministry of Health, shall serve as the rapporteur of the Taskforce.

Article (II)

The Minister of Health and the relevant authorities, each within their capacity, shall implement the provisions of this edict, which shall take effect the day following its publication in the Official Gazette.
