HM King, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister congratulated by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad
His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on McLaren’s victory in the Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship and McLaren driver Lando Norris’ win in the Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship at the conclusion of the Formula 1 World Championship season. The achievement marks the first time in 27 years that the team has secured both titles in the same season.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad also congratulated His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the SCYS.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad affirmed that this victory reflects the unlimited support enjoyed by Bahraini sports, particularly motorsport, which has placed the Kingdom on the global sporting map. His Highness commended the exceptional and consistent performance delivered by the team’s drivers, led by the new world champion Lando Norris, as well as the collective efforts of the entire McLaren team.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad said that this achievement was not only a race victory but a confirmation of Bahrain’s vision for sports investment and a testament to the team’s high technical and engineering capabilities. His Highness wished the McLaren team continued success in securing further titles, noting that this accomplishment strengthens Bahrain’s position as a regional and international hub for motorsport.
