HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister issues Edict (7) of 2026

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, issued Edict (7) of 2026, approving the General Policies of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF), based on a proposal by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA) and following the approval of Cabinet.

The edict stipulates the following:

Article (I)

The General Policies of the National Qualification Framework (NQF) attached to this edict shall be approved.

Article (II)

Edict (12) of 2015 approving the General Policies of the NQF issued by the Quality Assurance Authority for Education and Training (QAAET), as well as Edict (17) of 2019 on the General Framework for Academic Programme Reviews under the Directorate of Higher Education Reviews of the Education and Training Quality Authority, are hereby repealed. Any provisions inconsistent with this edict are also repealed.

Article (III)

This edict and its accompanying policies shall be published in the Official Gazette and shall come into effect on the day following the date of publication.
