HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister chairs the weekly Cabinet Meeting

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting.

To mark the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr holiday, the Cabinet extended its best wishes to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s citizens and residents, and to Muslims across the world.

His Royal Highness directed that all government sector employees and retirees be paid their salaries on Wednesday, 18 March, before the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

His Royal Highness also directed the relevant authorities to issue next month’s salaries of all government sector employees on Wednesday, 22 April. The move aims to reduce the timeframe between the two months.

The Cabinet reviewed the plans being implemented and the measures taken to address the impact of the hostile Iranian aggression towards the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as the availability of essential goods and the smooth flow of supply chains across the market. In this regard, the Cabinet directed the Ministry of Industry and Commerce to continue its cooperation with the private sector to ensure the ongoing monitoring of markets, enhance oversight, and maintain coordination to safeguard price stability.

The Cabinet commended the efforts of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), the National Guard, the Ministry of Interior, and the security and civil authorities for their high level of readiness, capability and for safeguarding the Kingdom and its security.

The Cabinet also commended the awareness and loyalty demonstrated by citizens and residents in their cooperation with the authorities, affirming its pride in the national workforce, as part of Team Bahrain, across various sectors in service of the Kingdom.

The Cabinet commended the United Nations Security Council’s adoption of a resolution condemning the unjustified and illegal Iranian attacks on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, underscoring that the resolution, which garnered the highest number of co-sponsors in UN Security Council history, reflects international trust in the Kingdom and the far-reaching visions of HM the King, which have strengthened Bahrain’s role as a supporter of initiatives that preserve global security and stability.

The Cabinet extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of the Bahraini woman who died as a result of hostile Iranian aggression targeting a residential area in Manama, and wished a swift recovery to those injured by the attacks. In this regard, the Cabinet commended the readiness and professionalism of the security authorities and medical teams.

 

The Cabinet then reviewed several memorandums submitted by ministerial committees and ministers, approving the following:

1.⁠ ⁠An agreement on the provision of medical supplies and the management of supply chains between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

2.⁠ ⁠A draft law approving amendments to certain provisions of the Unified Customs Regulation “Law” of the GCC States.

3.⁠ ⁠Bahrain’s accession to the Asian Road Safety Alliance

4.⁠ ⁠The government’s response to several proposals submitted by the Council of Representatives.

 

The Cabinet also reviewed the following ministerial reports:

1.⁠ ⁠The outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the joint ministerial meetings between the GCC countries and other allied countries.

2.⁠ ⁠The outcomes of the emergency meeting of GCC Ministers of Information, held in the aftermath of the hostile Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain and other GCC countries.
