HRH the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister meets with the UK’s Defence Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, today met with Vice Admiral Edward Ahlgren, the United Kingdom’s Defence Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa, and an accompanying delegation, at Riffa Palace.
His Royal Highness highlighted the longstanding relationship between Bahrain and the United Kingdom which is underpinned by strategic cooperation and collaboration across sectors.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad emphasised both nations’ commitment to strengthening cooperation in line with existing partnerships and agreements, particularly the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (CSIPA), to achieve shared goals and aspirations.
His Royal Highness stressed the critical role of the United Kingdom and its allies in safeguarding regional and international security, stability, and development.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister underscored the importance of consolidating this partnership across various sectors, particularly within military and defence, for the benefit of both nations and their people.
His Royal Highness noted the depth of the Bahrain-UK Relationship, highlighting its role in supporting the Kingdom’s efforts to combat the hostile Iranian aggression.
During the meeting, avenues to enhance cooperation, particularly in the military and defence sectors, as well as the latest regional developments, their repercussions on regional and international security and stability, and issues of common interest, were reviewed.
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court, and His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, were in attendance.
