HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister meets with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today met with the Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada.
The meeting took place as part of the Honourable Anita Anand’s visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain to participate in the Third GCC-Canada Joint Ministerial Meeting for Strategic Dialogue.
His Royal Highness highlighted the strength of the relationship between Bahrain and Canada, emphasising that it is one, underpinned by a shared commitment to advancing cooperation across sectors in support of both nations’ aspirations.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister stressed the importance of deepening bilateral cooperation to create opportunities that benefit the citizens of both nations.
During the meeting, the Honourable Anita Anand conveyed the greetings of the Right Honourable Mark Carney, the Prime Minister of Canada, to His Royal Highness, along with his wishes for the Kingdom of Bahrain’s continued progress and prosperity. His Royal Highness conveyed his greetings to the Prime Minister of Canada and expressed his wishes for Canada’s continued growth and development.
His Royal Highness expressed his hope for the meetings to be successful and that ltheir outcomes would contribute to strengthening cooperation between the GCC and Canada.
His Royal Highness underscored the significance of the Third GCC-Canada Joint Ministerial Meeting for Strategic Dialogue in enhancing cooperation and coordination across various fields, advancing shared objectives, and supporting efforts to promote regional security, stability, and development.
The meeting also reviewed the opportunities to advance further cooperation between Canada and Bahrain across various sectors, particularly in the economic and commercial fields. Regional and international developments, as well as issues of mutual interest, were also discussed.
For her part, the Honourable Anita Anand affirmed Canada’s support for the Kingdom of Bahrain and the GCC member states in confronting the hostile Iranian aggression going on to stress the importance of reopening the Strait of Hormuz to safeguard freedom of maritime navigation.
Honourable Anita Anand expressed her sincere gratitude for His Royal Highness’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations across various fields and for his support of cooperation between the GCC member states and Canada, wishing the Kingdom continued progress.
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court, also attended the meeting.
