7th Annual Conference of The Project Management Institute, Arabian Gulf Chapter
Your Excellency Rafiq Al Hariri, Your Excellency Abdulla Jumaa CEO of Aramco, Salem Shahin, President of PMI Arabian Gulf Chapter, Ladies and Gentlemen…
I would like to welcome you here tonight to the 7th Annual conference of the Project Management Institute, Arabian Gulf Chapter. I am looking forward to an enjoyable evening here tonight, and I trust that you will all derive a great benefit from your presence here at the conference. I wish to express my appreciation to the organisers for holding this annual event in Bahrain for the last five years. We have benefited not only economically from their presence but also technically, as you bring a tremendous sense of professionalism to project management.
This conference is particularly timely and appealing to a large professional audience because of your emphasis on information technology and project management. I understand the importance of using information technology in our everyday lives, and I am certain that you will benefit today and tomorrow from hearing how to apply these technologies in managing projects – large and small. I also know that our Bahraini engineers will take with them powerful tools to help them with the execution of projects of all kinds here in Bahrain.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the Arabian Gulf Chapter of PMI for their significant contribution to this vital profession throughout the Arabian Gulf region. Your efforts make a vital difference to the development of our young engineers and our industries.
You set a great example for other professionals to follow with your obvious interest in project management and all related technical fields.
I understand that you are also making major strides in the development of certified project management professionals. I especially appreciate this because I know that as a result, our project engineers in Bahrain will increasingly execute projects with the best technology at the best possible price in the shortest achievable time. This excellence of performance is critical to our success and to the success of all companies and countries in the Gulf area.
Finally, I wish to congratulate you on a job well done. The turnout tonight I believe is your largest ever, almost twice the attendance of last year, and I have heard that the technical presentations tomorrow will have over 300 people in attendance.
This is a marvellous accomplishment. You should be proud of your work.
Thank you very much.
