HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister chairs the weekly Cabinet Meeting
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.
The Cabinet commended the Bahrain Shield joint military exercise, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain and attended by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. The exercise follows a practical extension of the efforts of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to strengthen collective security and defence integration within the joint deterrence programmes. The Cabinet also commended the speech delivered by His Majesty the King, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, during the exercise.
The Cabinet then noted the meeting held between His Majesty the King and HE Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, expressing its appreciation for the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended to His Majesty and the accompanying delegation during the visit to Egypt. The Cabinet wished Egypt and its people continued progress, security, prosperity, and development.
The Cabinet congratulated the winners of the 10th edition of the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism, noting the Award’s importance in promoting media excellence, creativity and its role in supporting the continued development of journalists and media professionals across the Kingdom.
Marking International Youth Day, the Cabinet affirmed the government’s commitment to continuing to create quality opportunities for Bahraini youth, commending the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, in supporting young people and nurturing youth talent.
The Cabinet welcomed the statement issued by members of the United Nations Security Council condemning the missile attacks carried out by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its targeting of commercial vessels. The Cabinet also condemned the attack by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in Najran, Saudi Arabia.
The Cabinet then reviewed several memoranda submitted by the Government Executive Committee, the Civil Service Council, ministerial committees, and ministers, and approved the following:
1. Several priority draft laws aimed at addressing development needs and benefiting Bahraini citizens.
2. The restructuring of several government entities to improve performance and increase efficiency.
3. Bahrain’s Unified Final Account and the final results for fiscal year 2025.
4. A memorandum of understanding on cooperation in smart agriculture between the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Korea.
5. A memorandum of understanding to establish a twinning relationship between the Capital Municipality and the Municipality of Larnaca in the Republic of Cyprus.
6. The government’s response to several proposals submitted by the Council of Representatives.
The Cabinet also reviewed the following:
1. Decisions and recommendations of the Capital Municipal Council and the municipal councils during the fourth session of the sixth municipal term (2022–2026).
2. Key data and performance indicators of the Tender Board for 2025.
