HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister meets heads of delegations participating in the 126th meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee of the GCC States, the Governors of GCC Central Banks and IMF Managing Director

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today met with the heads of delegations participating in the 126th meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee of the GCC States, as well as the Governors of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Central Banks; His Excellency Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC, and Her Excellency Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), who is visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain to participate in the joint meeting between GCC Ministers of Finance and the IMF, at Riffa Palace.

His Royal Highness affirmed Bahrain’s commitment, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to supporting GCC projects and initiatives across all sectors, including the economic and financial sectors.

His Royal Highness noted that these efforts strengthen GCC cooperation and integration, contributing to further achievements in line with the visions of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC States.

His Royal Highness highlighted the deep-rooted ties and shared aspirations among the GCC States, which underpin joint GCC action.

Bahrain hosted the meeting as part of its presidency of the 46th Session of the Supreme Council of the GCC, the “Bahrain Summit”.

The heads of delegations conveyed the greetings of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC States, to HM the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

In turn, His Royal Highness conveyed the greetings of His Majesty the King and his own greetings to Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC States, and wished the participants success in achieving the meeting’s objectives.

His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of continuing to strengthen joint GCC efforts and implementing the directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC States, to further advance GCC cooperation.

For their part, the heads of delegations, Governors of GCC Central Banks, the Secretary General of the GCC, and the Managing Director of the IMF expressed their appreciation for His Royal Highness’s commitment to advancing GCC cooperation. They also wished the Kingdom continued progress and prosperity.

His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court, and His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, as well as several senior officials, were in attendance.
