Deputy King meets Malaysian FM

The Deputy of His Majesty the King and Crown Prince Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, highlighted the promising opportunities for cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Malaysia because of its potential in the fields of economy and modern technology.

 Shaikh Salman indicated during his meeting with the Malaysian Foreign Minister Datuk Anifah bin Haji Aman that the first ministerial meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the ASEAN group, hosted by the Kingdom during the past two days, had laid the foundations for further cooperation and communication between the countries of the region at various levels.

He also welcomed the invitation he received during the meeting to visit Malaysia and looked forward to the visit in order to further bolster the level of cooperation and exchange of experiences between the two countries in various sectors.

The two sides also agreed during the meeting the importance of activating the role of the joint commission between the two countries to strengthen bilateral relations and the course of mutual cooperation between them.During the meeting issues of political, economic, regional and international interest were also discussed by the two countries.

Meanwhile, Malaysian minister expressed his country’s support for the need to find a just and lasting solution to the Arab-Israeli dispute, stressing his country’s support for the principle of a two-state solution on the basis of the Arab peace initiative.

For his part, the minister commended the level of relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Malaysia and the good treatment received by the Malaysian community in the Kingdom.

He also expressed hope that the opening of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Kuala Lumpur, would contribute to the promoting and strengthening of relations between the two countries.
