HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister meets with local media representatives on the sidelines of the 2026 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today met with representatives of the General Directorate of Media and Security Culture of the Ministry of Interior, the Directorate of the News Centre, the Television Directorate, and the Radio Directorate at the Ministry of Information, and local newspapers, at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of His Royal Highness’ attendance at the 2026 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, in Malaysia, marking the 22nd edition of the event and is being hosted by Malaysia with the blessings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

His Royal Highness reiterated the important role of local media and press in highlighting Bahrain’s development and achievements across various sectors and at regional and international events.

His Royal Highness commended the efforts of Bahrain’s national media professionals in covering events and achievements with professionalism, thereby supporting the Kingdom’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

His Royal Highness expressed his appreciation for the efforts of journalists and media professionals and highlighted the important role they play in covering this international sporting event, as well as showcasing the organisational efforts and the circuit’s readiness to host the race in Malaysia.

His Royal Highness also commended the significant media interest the race has received so far, outlining that these efforts are appreciated and underscore the role of the media in fulfilling their national responsibilities.

For their part, the local media representatives expressed their appreciation for His Royal Highness’ recognition of their efforts and affirmed their commitment to continuing their work and fulfilling their national responsibilities.
