HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister receives the Speaker of the Council of Representatives and the Chairman of the Shura Council
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today received the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, HE Fawzia Abdullah Zainal, and the Chairman of the Shura Council, HE Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, and members of both councils, at Gudaibiya Palace.
His Royal Highness commended Shura Council and the Council of Representatives support of the Kingdom’s national development.
His Royal Highness noted cooperation between the Executive and Legislative Authorities supports the Kingdom’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
His Royal Highness noted that Bahrain is on a path of development to realise the Kingdom’s ambition.
His Royal Highness highlighted that the Government and Legislative Authority’s cooperation aids in forming a national strategy that supports the Kingdom’s development.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad commended the role of the Council of Representatives and the Shura Council for their contributions to the Kingdom’s present and future.
His Royal Highness highlighted that through cooperation the Kingdom will prosper and the interests of citizens will be realised.

His Royal Highness noted that the Kingdom of Bahrain, led by HM the King, is united through its people, traditions and national approach, a unity which was crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic.
His Royal Highness reviewed a number of topics of national relevance, affirming that economic indicators are positive and give reason for optimism for enhanced growth and development.
His Royal Highness noted that enhancing economic development prospects is a continuous effort, providing high-quality opportunities for Bahraini citizens.
His Royal Highness confirmed that the remainder of the 2019-2022 Government Programme will be completed and noted the contribution of the late Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to lead the programme’s implementation.
HRH also thanked the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives for their role in the programme’s success and for their support of the Economic Recovery Plan.
Additionally, His Royal Highness noted that the COVID-19 pandemic was a global and national challenge, which was met with resilience by Team Bahrain, including members of the Legislative Authority, and noted the Kingdom’s success when addressing the pandemic.
Regional and international developments were reviewed, with His Royal Highness noting that global challenges have affected energy and goods supplies, as well as their prices. In this regard, His Royal Highness noted that the kingdom of Bahrain will overcome these challenges, through joint efforts and due to the local businesses who have not raised the prices of goods.
For their part, the Speaker of the Council of Representatives and the Speaker of the Shura Council, as well as the members of both councils expressed their thanks and appreciation for His Royal Highness’ commitment to promoting joint initiatives between the Executive and Legislative Authorities to benefit the Kingdom and achieve the aspirations of its citizens, as part of His Majesty’s comprehensive development programme.
A number of senior officials also attended the meeting.
