HRH the Crown Prince issues an Edict on exempting the BDF and the Internal Security Forces from custom ‘duties’ taxes: 25 October 2020

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and First Deputy Prime Minister, today issued Edict No. (16) of 2020 regarding exempting the Bahrain Defense Force and the sectors within the Internal Security Forces from custom ‘duties’ taxes, stating:

Article 1

All imports by the Bahrain Defense Force, the National Guard, the Public Security Forces, the National Intelligence Service, and all other military or security agencies, of ammunition, weapons, equipment, military transport and their parts, and any other materials imported by the aforementioned parties are exempted from custom ‘duties’ taxes.

Article 2

The Edict No. (7) of 2004 regarding the exemption of imports of the Bahrain Defense Force and the sectors of the Internal Security Forces from custom ‘duties’ taxes, shall be abrogated.

Article 3

The Ministers – each within their respective jurisdiction – shall implement this Edict, which will take effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
