Crown Prince meets US Senator Robert Corker

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today met with United States Senator Robert Corker at Gudaibiya Palace.

Discussing the strong bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States, His Royal Highness restated a commitment to strengthening these ties, building on the decades long partnership the two nations have shared.

His Royal Highness went on to discuss the current situation in Bahrain and stressed that securing lasting, sustainable reform takes both time and a long-term vision.  He also unequivocally emphasised that consensus is an essential component to the success of reform and that lessons can be learnt from experiences around the region.

His Royal Highness welcomed the visit of Senator Corker, stating that such visits were an important part of maintaining and building the bilateral relationship.  In discussing regional issues, he said that such exchanges of thoughts and ideas were mutually beneficial.

In response, Senator Corker expressed his appreciation for Bahrain’s role in helping the United States maintain stability in the region.
