HRH Crown Prince Receives UN General Assembly President
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, praised today Qatari Representative to the UN Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al Nasr’s presidency of the UN General Assembly’s current session describing it as a major gain to the GCC countries.
He urged the GCC member states to avail of such opportunities to boost their presence in the international arena and prove their creative potentials.HRH the Crown Prince was speaking as he received at Riffa Palace today the UN General Assembly President, in the presence of Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.”The GCC countries have to continue bolstering the spirit of cooperation among them, promoting the rule of law and maintaining flexibility of the political systems,” he said urging to strengthen the capitalist economic systems which guarantee economic freedom and permit individuals to unleash their creativity potentials.
HRH the Crown Prince underscored the common denominators among the GCC countries, including people, culture, traditions, history and economic integration, which set the door open to crystallize hope to further cement the concept of union and maintain constructive balance between national sovereignty and comprehensive union.
Regarding the local context, HRH the Crown Prince highlighted to Mr. Al Nasr and his accompanying delegation the steps and decisions taken by HM the King to overcome the pitfalls of the recent crisis.These steps, he said, requires all rational citizens who care for the welfare of the nation to engage immediately in the political process within the framework of the state and its institutions which are the guarantor to achieve national objectives.
The UN General Assembly President reiterated support to all measures taken by His Majesty the King to fast-track reforms wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity.The meeting was attended by Crown Prince Court Head Shaikh Khalifa bin Daij Al Khalifa. AOQ
