HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister issues Edict (43) of 2025
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, issued Edict (43) of 2025 regarding the reformation of the Supreme Committee for the Care of Persons with Disabilities, based on a proposal by the Minister of Social Development and following the approval of the Cabinet.
Article (I)
The Supreme Committee for the Care of Persons with Disabilities shall be restructured under the chairmanship of the Minister of Social Development, with the following members:
1. Assistant Undersecretary for Social Care and Rehabilitation – representing the Ministry of Social Development
2. Member of the Supreme Council for Women – representing the Supreme Council for Women
3. Director of the Wages and Employment Benefits Directorate – representing the Civil Service Bureau
4. Director of Education Operations, Region 1 – representing the Ministry of Education
5. Director of Labour Relations – representing the Ministry of Labour
6. Consultant Physician at Government Hospitals – representing the Ministry of Health
7. President of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee – representing the Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities
8. Chairperson of the Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Committee – representing the National Institution for Human Rights
9. Financial Secretary of the Bahrain Society for Children with Behavioural and Communication Difficulties – representing the Bahrain Society for Children with Behavioral and Communication Difficulties
10. Chairman of the Board of the Bahrain Motivators Association for People with Disabilities – representing the Bahrain Motivators Association for People with Disabilities
11. Member of the Board of the Bahraini Society for Child Development– representing the Bahraini Society for Child Development
The entities listed in items (2), (6), and (11) above shall designate their representatives on the Committee.
Membership shall be for a renewable term of two years.
At its first meeting, the Committee shall elect a Deputy Chair.
Article (II)
The relevant ministers shall implement the provisions of this edict, which shall come into effect from the date of its issuance and be published in the Official Gazette.
