HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister meets with the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today met with His Excellency Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance, at Gudaibiya Palace.

HE Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed presented His Royal Highness with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Guinness World Records certificate, which recognises the Kingdom as having the highest density of places of worship for different religions. The moment marks a global achievement and further international acknowledgement of Bahrain’s longstanding efforts on religious tolerance and coexistence, reinforcing the country’s role in promoting and upholding religious freedoms.

During the meeting, His Royal Highness affirmed Bahrain’s forward looking approach rooted in coexistence, tolerance, and pluralism, values which are upheld by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

His Royal Highness also noted Bahrainis’ openness to different cultures and beliefs, which has contributed to strengthening the Kingdom’s standing as a global destination for cultures and religions.

His Royal Highness commended this international achievement, which adds to the Kingdom’s strong track record of accomplishments across various fields.

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad reaffirmed the Government’s unwavering commitment to implementing the visions and directives of His Majesty the King in further strengthening Bahrain’s unique and progressive model. This commitment is reflected in the continued support for efforts that promote tolerance and religious freedoms, safeguard the freedom to practice religious practices, and uphold respect for all religions.

His Royal Highness also highlighted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of coexistence among cultures, communities, and different beliefs, and to promoting the values of peace and mutual respect.

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad highlighted the vital role played by the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance in further strengthening Bahrain’s position. His Royal Highness extended his best wishes to the Chairman and members of the Centre for continued success in advancing its goals and aspirations.

For his part, the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance expressed his gratitude and appreciation to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for His Royal Highness’ unwavering support of the Centre’s initiatives and activities.

HE Al Khalifa noted that the Kingdom’s achievement of this international milestone reflects Bahrain’s approach, founded on the principles of coexistence, tolerance, and respect for religious freedoms, guided by the visions and aspirations of His Majesty the King and the directives of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, and HE Hamad bin Faisal Al Maliki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, also attended the meeting.
