HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister receives heads of delegations for the 167th Meeting of the GCC Ministerial Council and the third Gulf-Canada Joint Ministerial Meeting for Strategic Dialogue
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today received the heads of delegations participating in the 167th Meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council Ministerial Council and the third Gulf-Canada Joint Ministerial Meeting for Strategic Dialogue.
His Royal Highness affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to bolster GCC cooperation and coordination and work towards achieving wide-ranging goals.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad referenced the robust foundations of cooperation established by previous GCC leaders, which have strengthened and advanced joint Gulf efforts. His Royal Highness emphasised the importance of continuing to build on the GCC’s collective achievements and strategic partnerships, which are critical in ensuring the Council’s continued progress.
The heads of delegations conveyed the greetings of the other GCC leaders to His Majesty the King, and to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. While His Royal Highness extended the greetings of His Majesty the King and his own to the leaders of the GCC states.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad also outlined his hope that the meetings would achieve the desired outcomes and enhance engagement and collaboration among the GCC member states.
His Royal Highness then reiterated Bahrain’s commitment to supporting initiatives and efforts aimed at consolidating peace, security, and prosperity, as well as capitalising on opportunities to achieve joint goals across all sectors.
In addition, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister expressed Bahrain’s condemnation of the renewed Iranian aggression against the GCC states, affirming the Kingdom’s support for all efforts aimed at preventing escalation, protecting civilians and vital infrastructure, and upholding regional and international peace and security.
His Royal Highness welcomed the longstanding relations between the GCC countries and Canada, highlighting the steady progress across a range of fields. His Royal Highness commented on the importance of building on these ties, including through creating new opportunities that drive forward shared interests, sustainable growth, and prosperity.
For their part, the heads of delegations expressed their thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for his continued commitment and support to enhance joint GCC efforts, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain continued growth and prosperity.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court, HE Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and HE Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, also attended the meeting.
