HM King chairs weekly Cabinet Meeting

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting held at Al Sakhir Palace, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

 

His Majesty the King delivered an address expressing deep gratitude and appreciation to all those who have demonstrated, in word and deed, their patriotism and support for the Kingdom of Bahrain, including their responsible backing of the recent measures taken to safeguard the kingdom’s unity and stability against any threat to national unity and the process of achieving further development and prosperity. His Majesty thanked members of state institutions, community figures, writers, authors and poets for their valued support.

 

His Majesty praised the sincere expression of unity and loyalty shown by Bahraini citizens and families, describing them as a powerful reflection of national cohesion. His Majesty said it was an honour to reaffirm the Kingdom’s commitment to its people and renew the pledge to defend the homeland and preserve the values that unite the nation. His Majesty expressed appreciation, respect and gratitude for the steadfast positions demonstrated by the people of Bahrain, noting that their support strengthens confidence in the future and reinforces the nation’s determination to move forward with optimism and purpose.

 

Addressing the Iranian aggression, His Majesty the King said it has sought to harm the efforts of development in the region, disregarding international conventions and laws, and the principles of good neighbourliness. His Majesty said that Bahrain’s resilience and restraint during an unprecedented war of defence reflected a longstanding national commitment to consolidating regional stability and supporting international peace, security and prosperity.

 

His Majesty underscored the importance of maintaining the Strait of Hormuz as an international maritime waterway, ensuring the swift restoration of freedom of navigation and protecting the region from the dangers posed by weapons of mass destruction.

 

His Majesty said Bahrain will continue to choose peace, guided by the belief that lasting security is achieved not through confrontation, but through diplomacy, constructive dialogue, civilised coexistence, human development and a deeper appreciation of the shared history and close ties that connect the region’s peoples and nations.

 

His Majesty added that Bahrain has, throughout its history, held a distinguished place in the Islamic world, noting that safeguarding the Kingdom, preserving its security and protecting its stability contribute to strengthening the unity of the Islamic nation.

On behalf of the united Bahraini society, His Majesty the King paid tribute to the commanders, officers, non-commissioned officers and personnel of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), the National Guard and the Ministry of Interior. His Majesty commended their professionalism, discipline and dedication in carrying out their responsibilities and expressed pride in Bahrain’s high state of readiness and operational preparedness. His Majesty noted that members of the military and security services continue to perform their national duties with efficiency and capability under all circumstances in defence of the Kingdom’s security and stability.

 

His Majesty stated that the realities of current events require continuous preparedness, placing a historic responsibility on Arab states to defend their sovereignty, coordinate their efforts in confronting present challenges and preparing for the future with confidence and resolve. His Majesty also stressed the importance of reinforcing the stability of civil states that are independent in their sovereign decisions and capable of consolidating national unity.

 

His Majesty the King emphasised that efforts will be directed towards protecting Bahrain’s national interest and preserving its achievements and established reputation, while maintaining unity in the face of any interference or aggression. His Majesty said that Bahrain would take the necessary legal measures against anyone who acts against national interest, and warned traitors that any conspiracy against the nation will lead only to clear loss.

 

His Majesty expressed appreciation for the national resilience demonstrated by the people of Bahrain in the face of challenges, noting their awareness, steadfastness and contributions across all domains, and their commitment to solidarity and unity as one family proud of its national cohesion. His Majesty expressed pride in that they were the strength of the nation in war and remain its enduring strength in peace.

 

His Majesty called on citizens to continue serving the nation and defending its interests, following the example set by previous generations, and to take pride in the Kingdom’s enduring identity as a nation that has consistently upheld the values of peace.

 

His Majesty also congratulated the pilgrims of the Kingdom of Bahrain on their safe return. His Majesty also congratulated King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, on the successful and exemplary organisation of the 1447 AH Hajj season, praising Saudi Arabia’s extensive efforts in serving pilgrims and providing them with the highest standards of services and facilities.

 

For his part, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister expressed, on his own behalf and on behalf of the Government, sincere thanks and appreciation to His Majesty the King for his commendation of the BDF, the National Guard, the Ministry of Interior, and all military, security and civil institutions. His Royal Highness said the royal recognition was a source of pride and honour and further reinforced the responsibility to continue serving the nation with the highest levels of efficiency and dedication in fulfilment of His Majesty’s objectives for the Kingdom.

 

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister also affirmed that the Government, in line with the vision and directives of His Majesty the King, will continue to work as one team to advance economic development, strengthen the competitiveness and resilience of the national economy, and adapt to various changes. His Royal Highness noted that these efforts are driven by Bahrain’s strong foundations, forward-looking development plans and close cooperation with regional and international partners. He added that this would contribute to sustaining growth, expanding investment and economic partnerships, creating more high-quality opportunities for citizens and delivering greater prosperity for the Kingdom and its people.

 

On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Cabinet emphasised the importance of continuing to enhance environmental initiatives in line with sustainable development goals, ensuring the protection of the environment and the preservation of its natural resources.

 

The Cabinet expressed its condemnation of the blatant Iranian attacks targeting the State of Kuwait, affirming Bahrain’s full support for Kuwait and its backing of all measures it takes to protect its security and sovereignty.

 

The Cabinet also reviewed memoranda submitted by ministerial committees and ministers and approved the following:

1. A draft law on the regulation of private security services.

2. A Memorandum of Understanding between the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) at the Ministry of Interior and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security in the United Arab Emirates on the single-point pre-arrival passenger registration project between the two countries.

3. A draft decision on the classification of micro, small and medium enterprises, expanding the scope of support for enterprises in line with international practices.
