HRH Crown Prince receives letter from UK Prime Minister

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today received a letter on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa from United Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Rt Hon David Cameron during a meeting held at the Riffa Palace with the UK Ambassador, Iain Lindsay.

The letter congratulated His Majesty and the Kingdom of Bahrain on the success of the Bahrain International Air Show 2014.

It also stated the UK’s appreciation for the support provided by Bahrain to the Great British Week held in January, which marked 200 years of friendship between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom.

The letter also noted the warm hospitality experienced by UK officials during their visit to the events, which pointed to stature of the longstanding ties between Bahrain and the UK.

In response to the Ambassador, HRH Crown Prince discussed levels of cooperation and coordination between the two countries, which he noted required a strong foundation based on strategic ties and mutual interest, and reinforced by mutual respect for the values of both nations. He then expressed confidence in the prospects of further strengthening links between Bahrain and the UK.

Ambassdor Lindsay went on to say that the UK attached significant importance to the further development of ties with Bahrain.
